This stamp was in use after the death of William Henry Southwell in 1870. The studios at 16 Baker Street and 64A New Bond Street were no longer in use. Frederick and Edwin operated only from 22 Baker Street up to the time of their bankruptcy. Proceedings commenced in 1872, but it appears that they reached an 'accommodation with creditors' and the business continued in their name until 1876. The carte with this example is dated in ink December 1872. |
